There are times when all the English grammar books, CDs, online resources and self-study guides in the world don’t seem to help.

You’re getting more frustrated trying to do it yourself.  Your English is not improving, and you’re starting to feel you’re getting nowhere!

But wait, don’t quit yet!

There IS a better way!

Here I am! A real-life practising English teacher at your service and

here’s how you’ll improve from working with me:

Master grammatically correct English structures

To even start speaking or writing English at all, you need grammar.  Don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t need it.

Grammar IS the very foundation on which English is built.  OK, imagine a house without a foundation, it might stand there for a while but when the wind starts blowing, it won’t be there much longer.

It’s the same with grammar.  Without it, you may be able to put some words together, maybe in the wrong order but that’s ok, the locals will still understand you.

But try that with a ‘Mat Salleh’ (native English speaker) and you may be headed for a communication breakdown.

In business today, you simply can’t run away from having to communicate with people all over the world using the global language, English!

Get your pronunciation and intonation right

This may not seem such a big deal in face-to-face conversations because you can rely on facial expressions and hand gestures.

But in telephone conversations when all the other person hears is your voice, how and what you say is very important in conveying exactly what you mean.

I don’t just teach you pronunciation, I teach you the correct pronunciation. Just because everyone else pronounces a word a certain way doesn’t mean it’s right.

If you’re going to pay good money to learn something useful, make sure you’re learning the right thing.

Power up your vocabulary

You need a working vocabulary to be able to understand what others are saying. This is especially true when you have to communicate with people from other parts of the world.

To be able to participate in meetings, discuss your brilliant ideas and impress your boss, you must have the necessary vocabulary to make yourself understood.

Without the words to say what you mean, you may very well end up saying something you don’t mean!  And oops, there goes that promotion!

Write painlessly and professionally

You may be one of the many people who find writing very difficult, whether it’s those monthly reports or even emails.

You know what you want to say, you just can’t find the words to say it.

But writing doesn’t have to be a struggle if you know how.  I can show you how to write simply, politely and professionally.

Interact, Practise and Use

The only ‘real’ way to learn a language is through use and practice.

In my courses, there’re lots of opportunities for interaction, and you’ll have no excuse but to use and practise what you’ve learnt. In fact, you can walk out of class any day and immediately be able to apply what you’ve learnt.

Don’t understand something?  All you have to do is ask.  I enjoy answering questions and I’m always happy to help.

Rectify your weaknesses

Many times, you don’t realize your own mistakes, and your friends are too polite to tell you to your face.

Sometimes you realize something is wrong but you don’t know what. And even worse, you don’t know how to correct yourself.

By working with you, I can highlight your weaknesses and help you address them.  This is the quickest way to learn and progress.

Project a professional image of yourself

You have the technical knowledge to do your job. But to do it even better, you need the confidence to use English to help you do that job.

Communicating fluently in English will greatly improve your professional image and competence.  So give yourself that extra edge.

Open up more opportunities for yourself

I work with children, adults and individuals in organizations to improve their English proficiency...

...and you’re welcome to join us.

This is what english. One is about, helping you to understand and be understood!  We help you to help yourself with English.

All set to move up and ahead with the times?

Let’s get to work

What students

are saying

An IT engineer @ Ericcson says:

What I have learnt from the class has benefited me a lot at work.

The grammatical errors that used to occur in my reports and e-mails have been tremendously reduced.

Conversations with colleagues from other countries also seem to be smoother nowadays.

SY, a 2002 UPSR student says:

I enjoy my time in this class.  This is because I always learn a lot from this class.  For example, learning how to pronounce words properly, grammar, the right way of presenting a presentation and lots more.

On top of that, I find this class very fun and interesting.  The games played are also fun.  Sometimes the teacher would also give us riddles to answer.  That would keep me thinking for a very long time.

A secretary @ IBM says:

Taking this class is helping me a lot at work such as writing letters and e-mails to colleagues and business associates.

At the same time, it has increased my confidence in conducting English conversations with others, and in handling phone calls.

It is enjoyable to learn phonics during the class.  I feel like a baby who is trying to catch every single sound and paying full attention to it.  This is interesting because it never happened during my school days.

A manager @ J. Insurance says:

I find that by learning to tell the differences between tenses such as simple, continuous, and perfect tense, writing memos or letters at my work has become easier.

Learning new vocabulary in the class is very helpful for me in writing proper letters to my clients or in communicating with them.

I like the class being small as we can concentrate better, and our teacher can pay more attention to each of us.  We are all very committed to the class, and I am encouraged by the spirit of my classmates.

Our teacher is always very patient in answering our questions and correcting our mistakes.

JH, a Form 2 student says:

What I like about this class is that the teacher is kind and nice, very helpful, and plays some fun games with us.

The second thing is this class helps me in my studies.  It helps me with my English.  Now, I am getting higher marks for my English exams.
